Ultra Probe Launched in 1996, the Ultra Probe was a deep space exploratory mission to the 10th planet in our solar system--the Planet Ultra discovered by Professor Bergman.  Something went wrong on the mission. Only one person survived.  Space: 1999 fans may want to compare this model to the MetaProbe, to see the similarities in design. The Ultra Probe, because it was specifically designed for the episode Dragon's Domain is much more intricate and detailed than the Meta Probe, which looks like it was quickly cobbled together from spare parts. Building the Ultra Probe took several months, and the model incorporates hundreds of details. It will be the centrepiece of a larger animation in the future, as well as several stills, but for now, enjoy the shots below. There are a number of them, so be patient while the page loads.
